Write it in big letters
Turn a word into a banner of blocks, stars or emoji. Still plain text, so it pastes anywhere.
The generator
A-Z 0-9 . , ! ? - + / ' and <3. Anything else is skipped, and a word over about 10 letters is wider than most chats.
Where a banner fits
- A chat message or a README. Both keep line breaks and use a monospaced font, which is what the shapes need.
- A terminal or a commit message. The block style is the one that was designed for this.
- Not a bio. 5 lines of 40 characters is 200 characters, and an Instagram bio holds 150.
- Not a proportional font. Anywhere the letters are not all the same width, the rows slide out of line. The emoji styles are the exception: every emoji is the same width as every other.
1 set of letters, 6 looks
Every style here is the same 5-row letterform drawn with a different pair of characters: 1 for a filled cell and 1 for an empty one. That is why an emoji banner lines up exactly like a block one, and why your own pair works as well as the presets. The old ASCII art generators keep a separate font per style, which is also why their styles disagree about where the letters end.
Nothing leaves the page
The letter shapes travel with the page, and the banner is drawn from them here. Your word is never sent anywhere, and the file the save button produces is made on your own device.

This is the small version
A tool here changes text or draws a picture on your own screen. Emojery puts the same emoji on someone else's page, as a counted reaction anyone can add up again.
