How it works
- Put chips on the layout, then spin. Every bet that covers the number the ball lands on pays.
- A single number pays 35 to 1, a split 17, a street 11, a corner 8 and a line of 6 pays 5.
- Red or black, odd or even, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 pay 1 to 1; a dozen or a column pays 2 to 1.
- The wheel has 1 zero. It loses every outside bet, and that is where the house edge comes from.
- The last 12 numbers are listed beside the wheel. They do not predict the next one; nothing does.
Controls
- Pick a chip, then tap a spot on the layout; tap again to stack another.
- Undo takes the last chip back, Clear takes them all.
- Spin, or press Space. Rebet repeats the last round's chips.
- For a split, street, corner or line, pick it above the layout and tap the number nearest the edge or corner you mean. With a keyboard, the arrow keys move, C switches which one, and Enter bets.
- Keys 1 to 4 pick the chip; U undoes. Winning chips stay on the layout for the next spin.
Splits, corners and lines on a phone
On a real table a split is a chip on the line between 2 numbers, and a corner is a chip where 4 meet. Here, pick Split, Street, Corner or Line above the layout, then tap the number nearest the line you mean: the bet goes on the edge or the corner closest to where your finger landed, and the numbers it covers light up. On a phone the layout turns on its side, 3 numbers across and 12 down, so every spot stays big enough for a thumb.
Where the number comes from
The number is drawn first, 1 of the 37 pockets with the same chance each, and the wheel and the ball are then animated to stop on it. Every bet on the layout pays as if the zero were not there, which is exactly the 1 in 37 the house keeps. The history beside the wheel is only a record: a number that has not come up for a while is no more likely to come up next.
