How it works
- Every game paints a new scene out of emoji and cuts it into pieces with knobs and sockets, so only the right neighbours fit.
- Put each piece back in its spot in the frame. Dropped close enough, it clicks into place and stays.
- Corner and edge pieces have a flat side. Edges first lines them up at the top of the tray, which is where most people start.
- Show picture puts a faint copy of the scene in the frame. Hint lifts a piece and lights its spot, for 50 points.
- Your quickest time for each size is kept on this device.
Controls
- Drag a piece into the frame.
- Or tap a piece, then tap the spot in the frame where it goes.
- Tab walks the pieces and Enter picks one up; the arrow keys then move a cursor over the frame, and Enter puts the piece there.
- E lines up the edges, H gives a hint, N cuts a new puzzle.
A picture nobody has seen before
There is no library of photos behind this. Each puzzle paints its own scene: a backdrop, 1 big emoji in the middle and a crowd of smaller ones around it, from a theme picked at random. The layout is random too, so the same theme never comes out the same twice, and there is no box lid to memorise. The emoji are drawn by your own device's font, which is why the same puzzle looks a little different on a phone and on a laptop.
Real pieces, cut the real way
Every edge between 2 pieces is cut once and shared: one side gets the knob, the other gets the socket, so a piece only fits against its true neighbours. The outside edge stays flat, which is what makes the corners and the border the easy place to start. Nothing leaves the tab, and your quickest time for each size stays on this device.
