Emoji reactions in Vivaldi

Vivaldi is for people who want a say in what every site does. Emojery matches that: it has a switch per supported site, not just one for everything.

Install it

  1. Open the Emojery listing on the Chrome Web Store, in Vivaldi.
  2. Click Add to Vivaldi, then confirm.
  3. No Add to Vivaldi button? Open Settings, go to Privacy and Security, find Google Extensions, and enable the Web Store option. Then reload the listing.
  4. Pin it to the toolbar so the popup is 1 click away. Step by step.

What you are installing

The Chrome Web Store reviews the listing before publication and on every update, and the extension is public under GPL-3.0. If you would rather run a copy you compiled, that path is documented.

Each permission has a reason on browser permissions, and privacy lists what leaves the browser. If the answer you want is "nowhere I have not agreed to", the per-site toggles are the shortest route: a site switched off gets no picker at all.

Per-site, not just on or off

Turn on Only selected sites and every supported site gets its own switch, with a filter above the list. That is the setting Vivaldi users usually reach for first, and it is the one to use if you want the picker on a repository but not on a feed. Step by step.

Switching the section back off re-enables every site rather than remembering your exceptions, so it is worth knowing before you flip it twice.

Your settings stay in this install

The per-site switches, the theme and the auto-press lists live in this copy of Vivaldi. Reactions follow your account anywhere you sign in; the preferences do not, and neither does the history list.
