How it works
- The grid is drawn from a single group: fruit, tools, weather, and so on.
- 1 emoji comes from somewhere else. That is the one to hit.
- Each round adds emoji and picks a group closer to the first: fruit against vegetables reads very differently from fruit against vehicles.
- A wrong pick costs 5 seconds. The round ends when the 60 seconds do.
Controls
- Click or tap a cell.
- Tab walks the grid, Space or Enter picks the focused cell.
- R starts a new round.
The rounds get harder in 2 directions at once
The grid grows, which is the obvious half. The other half is which group the outsider comes from: the early rounds put a hammer among the fruit, and the late ones put a vegetable there. A category you can name in 1 word is easy to scan; a category that overlaps the first one has to be checked emoji by emoji, and that is where the 60 seconds go.
Nothing leaves the tab
The grid, the clock and the score all happen in this tab. The round you reached is remembered on this device and goes nowhere else.
