Emoji reaction time
Wait for the flip, then hit it. An average you can compare against your own best.
The test
0/5round
—last
—average
—your best
5 rounds. The panel turns red, then green: hit it the moment it does.
How it works
- Press Start. The panel turns red and holds a 🙈 for somewhere between 1 and 4 seconds.
- The moment it flips to 🎯 on green, hit it.
- Hitting it early is a false start: that round restarts rather than scoring 0.
- After 5 rounds you get the average, the best of the 5, and every round as a bar.
Controls
- Click or tap the panel.
- Space or Enter, once the panel has focus.
- R starts a new set.
What the number actually measures
A healthy adult sees a change and reacts in roughly 200 to 250 milliseconds, and that is before any of this page is involved. What you get here is that reaction plus the screen's own refresh, the browser's event timing and whatever your input device adds, which is why the same person scores differently on a phone and on a desktop with a wired mouse.
So compare your times against your own, not against a table on the internet. The average over 5 rounds is the honest half of the result: 1 lucky round says nothing, and 5 of them say roughly where you are today.
Nothing here is sent anywhere
The timing, the average and your best all happen in this tab. The best is remembered on this device so it is there when you come back, and clearing your site data clears it. There is no account, no score table, and nothing to upload.

React to more than a scoreboard
The score here is yours alone, kept on this device. Emojery counts emoji where other people can see them: on the post, the video, the repo or the product you are already looking at.
